It’s autumn outside, and by the way October is my favourite month! I love it because it’s very special for me. One year ago I got married to my best man in the world, Nick. And two years ago my beloved dog Chantal was born. Every year, October means a beginning of something special in my life. But let’s get back to the today’s subject! Read More
For me, spices are an important autumn attribute, same as rain boots for example, or a warm scarf, hot tea with honey, etc. I want to share this very autumn recipe of spicy plum jam with you. It smells so good, that a breakfast with this jam will be absolutely cozy and lovely, I promise! Read More
Summer is over, and it means that the season of pumpkins, apples, pears and grapes has begun. I love autumn very much, and I’m ready to speak about this love for a very long time. Autumn breakfasts are the most cozy and loved for me. Because you’re sitting in warmth, sipping your hot coffee with milk and watching people outdoor, who are rushing to work. But you feel good, you’re home …
Sometimes there are situations when some friends or parents call you, and say that they will visit you right now. If I have only tea (it happens with me sometimes) it’s really problem for me, because I don’t like to host guests without treating them with something tasty. I have a couple of simple and quick recipes for situations like this! And I want to share one of them with you.
The beginning of August is too hot now! And I don’t even want to think about cakes. Fruit and berries, all I need now. I want to share with you a very simple but tasty and impressive dessert – roasted peaches with vanilla beans. I propose to serve them hot, with a scoop of ice cream.
As you already know, having crepes on Sundays is our family tradition. I love thin crepes for breakfast at least because you can make a lot of different stuffings that suit your mood. I mostly love salted stuffing, and already shared a recipe of one of my favourite options “Crepes with blue-cheese and mushrooms”. If you didn’t cook them yet, I strongly recommend to do that! But today I’d like to share a sweet crepes recipe, with chocolate and beer. This is one for the grown-ups, or any teen that has access to their dad’s beer or a fake ID (click here). Just kidding! To be honest I don’t like alcohol in pastry too much. In this case beer is almost not noticeable, but adds airiness to the dough and emphasises the taste of chocolate. I rarely repeat a same recipe, but i will surely cook these crepes again. Good morning and bon appetite! Read More
When I was a kid, my family loved to go in the woods in search of mushrooms. I couldn’t wait for those little travels. Mom usually stayed near the car, when me and my dad took the baskets and knives, walked into the woods in search of mushrooms. These were really magical moments – finding a very big mushroom yourself! After that we returned with a basket full of mushrooms (in our area boletus were more spread than other mushrooms), we went home, washed and cleaned mushrooms for the whole evening, and waited for the best delicious dinner from my mom. Fried mushrooms with potatoes.
My mother and granny often baked some special cookies for me, when I was a little girl. That cookies were called “Fantasy”. I loved the well baked crispy and berry stuffing. Mom usually cooked them with blackcurrant jam. But I decided to modify this option and added fresh berries and add some lemon zest and lemon juice, because I love how the lemon emphasises the taste of berries. It’s a new version of cookies from my childhood, but it’s so lovely! By the way, you can use any berries you like for stuffing. And I advice you to adjust the amount of sugar to your own taste, because personally I prefer the sour stuffing with sweet dough.
